Well Christmas has happened and we are at the end of 2016. Wowsers. That happened fast. I mean not really, it took twelve months, but it seemed fast.
So as the year draws to a close, I feel that it's a good time to look over the year that's been, and think about the year ahead. I look over what I've achieved in the year and what I would like to achieve next year. I think it's really important that this is holistic look; it has to include life outside of acting.
A few months ago, Kyle Walmsley (http://kylewalmsley.info/#/2017season/) made a great blog about season launches. In his blog he spoke about how as independent artists we wait around for the launches of major companies and try to see where we fit. He then encouraged artists to create their own season for 2017. I was inspired.
I think it's a great idea. I think it publicly states our goals as artists, and gives us power. Also a chance to take the piss which I'm never really one to pass on. I think it also puts the onus back on us as artists to create our own work and plan, and if other stuff happens, great. But if it doesn't, we can be independent and have our own goals and artistic arc over a year.
So my launch video is sitting just under the title, waiting for your eyes to watch. Hopefully you can join me in 2017.
