Meet Tammy Weller
Since graduating from the University of Southern Queensland with a Bachelor of Theatre Arts majoring in Acting, Tammy Weller has worked extensively as an actor, producer, director and writer around Australia.
Tammy created the role of Annie for the 2017 Australian national tour of The Play That Goes Wrong. She is currently reprising the role in the Australian and New Zealand tour of Peter Pan Goes Wrong.
For most of 2018, Tammy has been giving young witches and wizards valuable life-lessons as Leanne in Puffs the Play. She also directed a sold-out season of one-woman show IM.Mortal for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Further acting theatre credits include Hitmen Baker's Dozen Theatre Company, Pocketful of Pebbles White Rabbit Theatre Ensemble, Macbeth wit inc, Coriolanus Heartstring, Maple and Vine Bottled Snail Productions, and Wind and the Willows Australian Shakespeare Company. She has toured around Queensland and Victoria for deBase productions (Fly In Fly Out, Popping Lead Balloons), Lightwire productions (Thoughts Have Feelings Too, Sprit of the Mask), and La Luna Youth Arts (Yarnin’ Up). She has been in several television commercials, and appeared in Molly on Channel 7.
In 2010, Tammy wrote, produced, and performed Single Admissions at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and a sell-out season at Metro Arts as part of the Allies program. Single Admissions was nominated for six Matilda Awards including Best Independent Production and Best New Australian Work. In 2014, Single Admissions was published by Playlab press. Her latest play as writer was in collaboration with Lisa Smith and Victoria Carless, titled Pocketful of Pebbles. Tammy also works as a captioner. She enjoys spending her free time interpretive dancing and getting therapy.
